Hannes Thaler of Forest4Farming and Josipa Bicanic of SolRa Successional Agroforestry would like to welcome you to an interactive 3-day course covering the principles of syntropic agriculture.
Forests4Farming (F4F) is a non-profit dedicated to scaling syntropic agriculture through open-source education. By providing universal access to these regenerative techniques, F4F empowers growers in any climate to cultivate food within thriving, self-sustaining agro-ecosystems.
SolRa is a Danish based not-for-profit company that teaches, plants and manages agroforests in Denmark, creating long-term partnerships of syntropic practitioners. Skovlandbruget Køge Fællesjord is SolRa´s main production and learning site where a variety of syntropic systems will be implemented over the next seasons.
Come and learn how humans can integrate ourselves back into nature and grow agro-ecosystems that produce food while also growing soil and re-establishing Denmark’s spontaneous ecosystem – the forest.
Objective of the Course
The course invites participants to adopt a revolutionary lens on the natural world, providing the practical mastery needed to apply the principles of Syntropic Agriculture to any landscape, regardless of scale or ambition.
Course Content
Throughout the course you will explore:
1. Forest Ecology and Forest Succession
2. The principles of Syntropic Agriculture and how to apply them
3. Practical planting of a Successional Agroforest
4. Management techniques for a Successional Agroforest
5. How to design your own Successional Agroforest
The course balances classroom learning with hands-on fieldwork.
We believe that applying theory to practice immediately is the most effective way to learn. As part of the course, we will work together to prepare and plant several new agroforestry rows—giving you a step-by-step understanding of how to establish your own agroforestry project.
On the final day, we will share our design process, and invite you to sketch out your own design ideas—whether suited to a backyard garden, an allotment, a school, a farm, or any piece of land.
